The driver allegedly left on Monday, Oct. 3 after the child was knocked to the ground and injured near E.M. Burke School, police said.
Paul Criscione, 66, turned himself in after observing his vehicle on the news, police said.
He was later charged with assault by auto, aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident involving bodily injury, and several motor vehicle summonses.
The child was taken to an area hospital where she was seen and released with minor injuries, police said.
The suspect was released pending a future court date.
